SOS-Hermann Gmeiner International College (SOS-HGIC) is a private boarding IB World School in Tema, Ghana, founded in 1990 as a Pan-African centre of academic excellence. It offers the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the IB Diploma Programme (DP), with non-language subjects taught in English and a DP core of Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and Creativity, Activity and Service. The DP groups cover Studies in Language and Literature (English, Amharic, Swahili, French A), Language Acquisition, Individuals and Societies, Sciences, Mathematics and the Arts. The school operates on two campuses: an Academic Campus with classrooms, a library, science and computer labs, an auditorium and dedicated spaces for music, theatre and visual arts; and a residential campus with 17 hostels, dining, sports fields, a swimming pool and gym. An active clubs programme includes Probotics, Modern Languages Club and Interact, alongside Global Awareness, Pan-African and MUN activities. DPS International Ghana is a leading international school in Tema, part of the global Delhi Public School network. Founded in 2010, it serves over 1,000 students from creche through to A-Level, offering Cambridge, CBSE and IB curricula. The school combines academic rigour with holistic development, emphasising integrity, compassion and lifelong learning in a modern, well-equipped campus environment.
Al-Rayan International School (ARIS) is an IB World School in Ghana offering International Baccalaureate continuum for ages 1 to 18. From the Primary Years Programme to the Diploma and Career-related Programmes, ARIS enables personalised learning and strong student agency within a student-centered IB framework. The school serves expatriate and local families across West Africa and emphasises inquiry, reflection, and development of the whole person through Approaches to Learning. The campus on East Legon Boundary Road comprises Block A, B, and C, with Block D planned to complete the future classroom design. Facilities include science labs, a Design Studio, art and performing arts spaces, a well-stocked library, and a gym and playing fields to support sport. Classes are supported by Wi‑Fi, big screens and interactive smartboards. ARIS also offers Extended Learning, including Olympiad and MUN clubs, robotics, Duke of Edinburgh, and arts programs, all designed to foster purpose, resilience and mindedness.
Liberty American School is a private, co‑educational day and boarding school in Accra, Ghana, offering an American curriculum with Biblical integration. It serves ages from early years to 18, with high school grades 9–12 and a pathway toward IB candidacy. The curriculum follows the US-origin AERO Common Core framework, augmented by Bible-based content created by LAS to meet the school climate. The campus provides 24/7 security and a boarding program, including meals, laundry, weekend trips, bus service, a chaplain, sickbay, CCTV, DSTV, reliable power and water, and 24/7 Internet. Early Education spaces include a library, music department, Chinese room, cafeteria, computer lab, and a swimming pool, with plans for a renovated nursery playground. Ghana International School (GIS) is a not-for-profit, private, day and boarding school established in 1955 to provide international education. The school follows Cambridge International curricula from Early Years through Primary and Secondary, leading to IGCSE and A Levels, with English as the medium of instruction. A Pearson BTEC Pathway in Music and Creative Media is available for students aged 14 and older, complemented by local content in pre-examination classes. GIS is accredited by Council of International Schools and New England Association of Schools and Colleges and is a member of AISA and ECIS. Facilities include an amphitheatre, a Film Room, a half Olympic-size swimming pool, a gym, air-conditioned classrooms with interactive whiteboards and IT facilities. The Secondary Library houses 20,000 books, six science laboratories, and a Language Laboratory. The campus features a Music Conservatory, an Art Room, a Health & Wellness Center. Musicals are staged at National Theatre in Accra.
