International Baccalaureate (IB) schools in Zambia are a small, concentrated group - most are located in Lusaka - and they typically offer one or more IB programmes (Primary Years, Middle Years and/or the Diploma). English is the normal language of instruction in international schools in Zambia, and parents should expect international-school tuition to sit well above local school fees, with annual costs at Lusaka international schools commonly ranging from a few thousand US dollars into the mid five-figure range depending on grade and school. The international-school academic year in Lusaka usually runs August/September to June and many schools operate rolling admissions, so families often apply six to twelve months before their intended start date. Relocating parents should budget separately for transport, devices, uniforms and external exam fees, and check each school’s published fee schedule and enrolment policy before applying.
