Curriculum

NGPS Bahrain offers a British-based education from Nursery through Year 9, structured around the Early Years Foundation Stage (ages 3–5) and Key Stages 1–3 (Years 1–9). The Primary curriculum centers on core English, Mathematics, and Science, with English taught under the Cambridge English framework; Mathematics and Science use Singaporean approaches; Foundation subjects include Social Studies, Art, Music, Physical Education, Information Technology, Arabic, French, and Life Skills, with Islamic education available to those who need it. NGPS identifies itself as an IBMYP/IBDP Candidate School for Nursery–Year 9, indicating alignment with International Baccalaureate frameworks. Assessments follow a three-term year with two term exams per term, preceded by a September diagnostic to determine placement and teaching approaches. The school carries Cambridge Accreditation, Bahrain Ministry of Education accreditation, and COBIS accreditation.

Wellbeing

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

NGPS Bahrain supports Social and Emotional Learning through two social counselors and by delivering wellbeing-focused assemblies and student clubs that foster self-esteem, public speaking, healthy relationships, anti-bullying, and related themes.

Special Educational Needs (SEN)

NGPS states that it places equal importance on learners with varying needs but does not have facilities to support SEN, and may refuse admission if a student's needs require services NGPS cannot provide.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

NGPS indicates students are bi-lingual and provides English-language instruction with library resources in English and Arabic; there is no publicly disclosed dedicated EAL program.

Mental Wellbeing

Mental wellbeing is supported by two social counselors and by wellbeing-oriented activities such as morning assemblies that address self-esteem and topics like healthy relationships and environment.

Safeguarding

Safeguarding is addressed through an external transport company operating under strict child-safeguarding rules and the school maintains an on-site nurse to support students' health.

Admissions

Admissions

1. NGPS enrolls students from the international and local community in Bahrain. The school follows a Cambridge Curriculum to provide a British education within the context of its local Islamic culture. Students are bilingual and are educated to become independent, active, and involved global citizens who contribute to society. Parents must complete all admissions procedures and agree to follow the school's policies as part of enrollment.

2. Ages for Early Years and Primary entry are defined as follows: Early Years Foundation Stage comprises ages 3-5 (Nursery, KG-1, KG-2) with 3-year-olds eligible for Nursery, 4-year-olds for KG-1, and 5-year-olds for KG-2. Primary School entry requires students to be 6 years old and meet all admission requirements.

3. Application process follows a step-by-step path: requests for enrollment are accepted online, by phone, or in person; prospective parents receive an information packet; a meeting with the Admissions Officer explains the programme and answers questions; the prospective student completes an entry assessment; on successful assessment and Principal approval, the parent submits the registration forms. The school maintains a continuous admissions policy throughout the year.

4. There are criteria for admission withdrawal and potential reasons for refusing admission: the school may refuse or limit enrollment if the program requires significant modification, if the student requires services not provided by NGPS, if there is persistent behavior problems or unsatisfactory academic performance, if policies or discipline codes are not adhered to, or if full educational records have not been disclosed.

5. Documents required in the first stages of the admission process include a Transfer Certificate from the previous school; the original CPR for the student and both parents; proof of residency; two passport-sized photographs; a copy of the student's birth certificate; immunization records and health form; the previous year's school report (for admission to Grade 1 and above); and a Certificate of Equivalency from the Bahrain Ministry of Education for students transferring from outside Bahrain.

6. Accreditation and oversight: NGPS is accredited by Cambridge, the Ministry of Education Bahrain, and COBIS.
