Introduction

HELP International School (HIS) is an international school in Subang Bestari, Shah Alam, Malaysia, offering a broad international framework for learners aged 4 to 17. Deposit, billing schedule and payment terms

- Initial deposit is collected prior to commencement of the first term; the deposit amount is adjusted as tuition increases by year level.
- Tuition fees and the Technology Fee are invoiced termly. There are three terms per academic year (tuition is payable each term).
- Fees are payable before the commencement of each term; invoices for tuition and technology fees must be settled upon commencement of the term.
- If fees are unpaid the school may restrict the student's attendance, withhold examination results, certificates and school records, and impose late payment penalties.

Withdrawal and refund conditions

- To withdraw a student a one (1) term written notice prior to the final term is required. Failure to give the required notice may result in forfeiture of the deposit.
- Deposits and any refundable sums will be refunded free of interest but must be claimed within one (1) year from the date the student ceases to be enrolled; unclaimed refundable amounts after one year will be transferred to the School Improvement Fund and will no longer be claimable.
- Application fees are non-transferable and non-refundable. Registration fees are paid on acceptance and treated as non-refundable.
- Deposits are not treated as payment of school fees and cannot be used to set off other amounts payable.

Other costs and likely additional charges

- Fees for specific camps, day trips, outstation activities or overseas trips.

Curriculum

British Curriculum is used in Primary. The school offers a multi-disciplinary, interactive and internationally-minded programme; HELP International School adopts the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) for rigorous, participative, interdisciplinary learning with a global emphasis on academic, personal and international-mindedness. Singapore Mathematics is embedded to develop future skills and apply mathematics in real-life contexts. English, Mandarin and Bahasa Malaysia are taught, with Music, Science, STEM, Digital Citizenship and Financial Literacy also included. Maximum 25 students per class and students from Year 2 onwards use personal iPads. The bilingual programme provides English and Mandarin in a dual-language environment with two qualified teachers per class, supporting second language acquisition and including Bahasa Malaysia as a compulsory component for Malaysian students.

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

Admission Process for New Students: Step 1 - How to Apply: Complete the Application Form and submit it with all relevant documents and the RM1,000 non-refundable application fee to the school. Payment may be made via cheque, cash or credit card. Step 2 - What's Next?: The school will schedule a placement assessment; admission is subject to the availability of places, school records, and satisfactory placement results. Step 3 - Confirmation of Acceptance: A Letter of Offer will be issued to successful applicants; acceptance must be confirmed by paying the Registration Fees within the timeline stated in the Letter of Offer. The process is child-centered and offers for the appropriate year level are made after the admission process and assessments are completed, considering the child's learning in the past 12 months, the outcome of the assessment, place availability, and age appropriateness. Admission for HELP Alumni's children follows the same three-step flow with RM1,000 application fee and a deduction of the first-term tuition deposit; the process also includes a placement assessment and a Letter of Offer.
