Salto International School - I-St@rt teaches IPC (International Primary Curriculum) for students aged 4 to 12.
Salto International School uses a bilingual hybrid curriculum with 50% Dutch and 50% English instruction for children aged 4-12 temporarily living in Eindhoven. IEYC and IPC are used to provide a global perspective. English literacy is taught daily, and language instruction totals 10-15 hours weekly. Math is taught in both Dutch and English, merging Dutch outcomes with the UK National Curriculum. The language curriculum is linked to IEYC/IPC projects, incorporating international goals and citizenship development.

Optimally prepared for further education in the Netherlands or elsewhere in the world.
The IPC personal goals are central to SALTO's social-emotional offering, and social-emotional development is given special attention. The IPC framework emphasizes international mindedness and a language-friendly environment to support students in becoming adaptable, respectful, and collaborative learners who are prepared for life in a diverse world.
SALTO International School uses four levels of support under its School Support Profile (SOP). If a child's needs cannot be met within these levels, Special Education is advised as the final step. An Educational Needs Manager coordinates support; the EAL/DAL teams provide language and learning support, and an IEP or OPP may be developed with possible involvement of external specialists for higher levels of support.
The EAL and DAL team supports students in developing English and Dutch. The class teacher identifies learners needing extra support, and the EAL/DAL coordinators set up a schedule for additional support or co-teaching in the classroom, which may include IEP/OPP and in-class or small-group interventions.
The school promotes wellbeing and a positive, safe learning environment. It monitors social safety with a student wellbeing questionnaire for groups 6-8 and seeks to develop the wellbeing of every child, supported by IPC Personal Goals and a Culture of care within the IPC framework.
A safeguarding framework includes an anti-bullying program, monitoring of social safety, physical safety with evacuation drills, and policies for internet use and privacy. There is a reporting code for domestic violence and for reporting sexual abuse, implemented as a five-step process, with confidential support available to parents and students. Suspension and removal procedures are described and external experts can be consulted when needed.
