Halifield Schools is a private Nigerian institution serving ages 2 to 16 with campuses in Maryland and Lekki. The curriculum blends Nigerian and British standards, delivering WASSCE and IGCSE syllabi and preparing students for BECE, CHECKPOINT, and IGCSE. Founded in 1996, Halifield is governed by a board of professionals; daily operations are led by a Director, with a Head of Schools and Principals managing campuses. Facilities span science laboratories, a Basic Technology Workshop, ICT and Language Labs, Math Lab, libraries, a Music Room, an Art Studio, a sports field and pavilion, dining hall, sick bay, boarding facilities, a Book Store, a Tuck Shop and wireless Internet. The school teaches a dynamic blend of the Nigerian and British curricula, utilizing the West African Senior Secondary Certificate Exam (WASSCE) and International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) syllabi. The blended curriculum prepares students for WASSCE, IGCSE, BECE (Junior Secondary) and CHECKPOINT (Junior Secondary). It features mostly individualized instruction, addressing problem areas step-by-step, with regular reviews and progress indicators to determine readiness to move ahead.
The Language Lab supports Yoruba, English and Igbo, indicating a multilingual language-learning environment.
Mentoring forms the backbone of student development, and counseling is provided by an in-house Guidance Counsellor who supports students in study habits, academic assessments, career development, and personal/social development.
1. Obtain and submit the application. The school allows downloading an application form from the school or picking up a form on-site. Prepare the required documents: filled application and admissions form, 2 passport pictures, previous school results, birth certificates, and medical reports. An application fee of N10,000 is paid on registration.
2. Schedule a school tour. A tour of the campus is arranged for prospective students and families. The tour provides an opportunity to view facilities and meet staff. Scheduling is handled through the admissions office.
3. Make payment for the application form. The application form fee must be paid as part of the process.
4. An entrance exam or assessment test is scheduled. The exam is conducted based on the vacancy of the class being applied into. The date is arranged after the application is received.
5. Exam results are issued. Results are communicated within a maximum of one week from the date of the exam. The communication is directed to the applicant and/or guardians.
6. A provisional admission letter and acceptance form is sent. The provisional letter confirms admission status and outlines next steps for enrolment.
7. Once you accept the offer, the acceptance fee must be paid within one month to guarantee admission. Timely payment secures the child's place in the class.
8. An Acceptance pack is available for pick up in the School Admissions Office. The pack includes enrolment documents and instructions for the next steps.
9. Documents and processes continue with enrolment as advised by the admissions team.
