Introduction

Located in Lekki, Lagos, Hampton Preparatory School is an independent day school serving children from three months to Year 8. Opened in 2017, it follows the Early Years Foundation Stage and the English National Curriculum, with integrated Nigerian history and culture. Cambridge curriculum underpins learning, with subject specialists in PSHE, English, Science and Music, plus a SEND head to ensure inclusive access through differentiated schemes and bespoke resources. The English curriculum runs from EYFS to Year 8, emphasising speaking, listening, reading and writing, building vocabulary, grammar and a love of literature, with writing embedded across subjects. The Science curriculum extends from EYFS to Year 8, prioritising practical investigations and collaborative enquiry. Mathematics is taught in sets with small class sizes, with opportunities for global maths competitions and gifted programmes for the top 20%, alongside 1:1 remedial support. Facilities include a Modern Library, a Science Laboratory and a Sports Complex; cross-curricular links include a Nigerian history project. Hampton holds Cambridge Assessment Internal Education accreditation and COBIS membership.
