Landmark College is a private college in Putney, Vermont, established to serve students who learn differently, including ADHD and autism spectrum conditions. Secondary School Curriculum. Landmark College, Ikorodu, Lagos offers a combination of the Nigerian and British National Curricula. In Key Stage 3 (JS1 to JS3), 15 subject areas are covered, including Art, Geography, Maths, Science(s), Drama, German, Music, Yoruba, English, History, PE, French, ICT, and PSHE. In Key Stage 4 (SS1 to SS3), most students work towards the IGCSE qualification alongside WAEC and NECO. Senior students study subjects across Humanities (English, Literature in English, Yoruba, Drama, French, Igbo, Christian Religious Studies, Islamic Religious Studies); Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Physical and Health Education, Basic Sciences, Agric Sciences); Vocational and Technology (Technical Drawing, Music, Fine, and Applied Art, Home Economics, Basic-Technology, Electrical-Electronics, and Food and Nutrition); Social Sciences (Civic Education, Geography, Social Sciences, Government, Economics); Maths and ICT (Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Information Technology, Computer Programming and Software Development); and Business (Accounting, Typing, Business-Studies, Commerce, Book-Keeping, Shorthand).

Higher Education Progression

University Progression. Landmark College Secondary School, Ikorodu, Lagos. Our university progression program supports students in applying to universities across the country as well as in the UK, USA, and Canada. We provide meetings with representatives from a wide range of universities, presentations on career and degree choices, guidance in selecting universities, UCAS/Common App and other online application systems, one-to-one support on writing effective personal statements, mock interviews, and tutoring on course/university specific testing. Recently students at Landmark College have received offers from universities such as University of Lagos, Covenant, Durham, Toronto, Sheffield, Brunel and Liverpool.

Wellbeing

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

The Guidance & Counselling Unit focuses on the total development of every student through programmes designed to find the highest value for learning and career development. There are three trained professional counsellors, and a hostel counsellor monitors students academically and attends to emotional needs. The unit provides individual and group counselling and organises seminars and workshops; leadership trainings are included, and staff support underpins learner development. Mentoring, career guidance, and opportunities for actual work experience are part of the learner-support framework. The approach emphasises boosting self-esteem and overcoming learning barriers to support academic progress.

Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Learner support identifies and develops each student's academic potential through a range of programmes. Better Handwriting helps students with below-average handwriting develop better writing skills. Remedial lessons are organized for students at no cost to parents. The Guidance & Counselling Unit offers individual and group counselling, mentoring, leadership training, and work experience to support learning and personal development.

Mental Wellbeing

Counselling focuses on the total development of every student to boost achievement and help students overcome personal, social, and emotional challenges. There are three trained professional counsellors, plus a hostel counsellor who attends to emotional needs. Guidance and Counselling services include individual and group counselling, career guidance, seminars and workshops, and leadership training.

Safeguarding

Drugs and medicaments brought to the school are handed over to the school's medical personnel with the family doctor's instructions. There is monitoring and supervision regarding the use of computers and television in the hostels. The boarding program provides staff oversight to support student safety and wellbeing, and medical personnel are available on site.

Admissions

Admissions

1. Submit an online application or download the application form. Applicants may apply online (recommended) or download the admission form. Online applications are encouraged to streamline processing and to facilitate later steps. The downloaded form is part of the application package that must be completed for submission.
2. Make a payment of N10,000 for the form online (apply online) or via internet transfer, cash or draft in favour of Landmark College, Ikorodu at designated banks. Bank details include Skye Bank A/C: 1770638878; WEMA Bank A/C: 0121553377; GT Bank A/C: 0015021619; and First Bank A/C: 2013963617. Payment should be completed prior to submitting the application.
3. Downloaded application forms should be submitted to the principal's office on or before the stipulated exam day. The exam day is published in the admissions information. Submission should be accompanied by the appropriate payment receipt where applicable.
4. With the online application, you can choose the preferred date you want your ward to write the entrance examination. Select an available slot during the online application process. The chosen date should be confirmed with the school.
5. Test for overseas students will be conducted at our various overseas centers which will be published on this site from time to time. Overseas centers are announced as arrangements are made and locations/dates are provided to applicants.
6. Entry into JS1: The candidate must be 10 years old by the month of the admission exercise. The candidate must have completed grade 11 or Pry 6 or Pry 5 from his/her previous school. JS1 applicants will be tested in Mathematics/Quantitative Aptitudes, English/Verbal Aptitudes, and General Paper. A testimonial from the previous school is required.
7. For transfer students into JS2, JS3 & SS1: They will be tested in English, Mathematics, and Basic Science. A testimonial from the previous school is required.
8. Transfer students into SS2: Art & Commercial classes will be tested on English, Mathematics and Government/Economics. The tests determine placement into the appropriate senior class.

Scholarships

The school has a scholarship programme with two categories that target different levels of student achievement. Junior Category Champions are for newly admitted students for the 2023/2024 academic session; two winners received a one-year tuition-free scholarship. Senior Category Standouts are students in senior levels who achieved BECE distinctions; in 2023, two such students in JS3 received a 50% tuition scholarship for one term as they moved to SS1. The scholarship programme recognizes and rewards academic excellence.
