Academics

Heritage Academy Singapore - Khatib Campus teaches American Curriculum for students aged 6 to 18.

Curriculum

Heritage Academy offers the Accelerated Christian Education (A.C.E.) curriculum from the United States. The program is structured around self-paced learning materials called PACEs, covering core subjects like English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. Character education is included through Bible-based lessons. High school students work toward an American High School Diploma. English support programs are available for non-native speakers. Co-curricular activities and practical science sessions supplement classroom learning.

Wellbeing

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

Heritage Academy supports social and emotional learning through weekly character education lessons based on Christian values. Regular chapel sessions focus on topics like empathy, responsibility, and respect. Co-curricular activities encourage teamwork and leadership skills. Teachers monitor students’ emotional wellbeing and provide informal pastoral support when needed.

Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Heritage Academy is not a specialist SEN institution but offers some support through its individualized learning approach. The A.C.E. curriculum allows students to progress at their own pace, which can benefit those with mild learning difficulties.

However, the school does not have dedicated SEN staff or specialist programs for moderate to severe needs. Parents are encouraged to discuss specific requirements with the school before enrollment.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

The school offers structured English language support through its English Courses I to IV, designed for non-native speakers. These six-month programs focus on building foundational skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. EAL support is available for both younger students and those in higher grades. Teachers provide additional language assistance in class as needed.

Mental Wellbeing

Heritage Academy supports mental wellbeing through character education, chapel sessions, and pastoral care from teaching staff. Co-curricular activities and leadership opportunities help build students’ confidence and resilience. While there is no dedicated school counselor, teachers are trained to observe and address basic emotional wellbeing concerns. Parents are involved when additional support is needed.

Safeguarding

The school adheres to Singapore's legal requirements concerning child protection and safeguarding. Staff members are trained to recognize and respond to signs of abuse or neglect, ensuring that any concerns are addressed promptly and appropriately. The school fosters a culture of openness and trust, encouraging students to speak up about any issues they may face.

Admissions

Admissions

1. Attend a Pre-Course Counselling Session.
In this session, the admissions team will explain the curriculum, discuss your child’s educational background, and review academic pathways available. You’ll also complete and sign the Pre-Course Counselling and Survey Form, which is required before proceeding further.

2. Submit the Application and Supporting Documents.
Parents need to complete the Student Application Form and provide supporting documents, including the child’s birth certificate, recent academic records, medical information (if any), and passport-sized photographs. Original documents must be presented for verification.

3. Complete Payment for Registration and Diagnostic Test Fees.
After submitting the application, parents are required to pay a non-refundable registration fee and a diagnostic test fee. The diagnostic test helps assess the student’s academic level and ensures proper grade placement.

4. Attend and Complete the Diagnostic Test.
The diagnostic test evaluates your child’s proficiency in core subjects to determine the appropriate entry point. Results will be shared with parents, and the school will confirm grade placement based on the outcomes.

5. Finalize Enrollment and Course Materials.
Parents will complete the PEI-Student Contract and settle the course fees. You’ll also arrange for the purchase of learning materials (PACEs) and confirm your child’s start date. If required, the school will assist with the Student Pass application process for international students.
