Lakeside School – Horgen offers a bilingual Swiss curriculum for ages 3 to 12, blending Pre-K through Primary education with the bilingual Matura path in partnership with Freies Gymnasium Zürich. In Pre-K and Kindergarten, each class has English-speaking and German-speaking teachers, exposing children to both languages. In Primary School, instruction is delivered in English and German, with one native English-speaking and one native German-speaking teacher sharing responsibilities; there is an English week when all subjects are taught in English and a German week when they are taught in German, with subjects taught in either language. Lehrplan 21 is supplemented by international inputs. The campus in central Horgen includes a Kindergarten House with a garden, and a Primary School House housing a music room, a crafts/design/technology room, a drama room, and an in-house library. On-site gym hall with a climbing wall supports physical education, and language support rooms assist multilingual learning. Upper school continues bilingual Matura up to the Swiss Matura.
