Refunds and registration fee conditions

- The refundable component of certain registration fees (for Primary and Secondary registrations) is held until the child reaches official school-leaving age and is subject to the College's registration terms and conditions. Where an applicant is not accepted or a visa is denied, registration fees are refundable subject to the College's stated conditions. The boarding confirmation fee is deductible from the first term invoice; the boarding damage deposit (EUR 500) is refundable after departure following a room check. Withdrawals require two months' notice or payment of one term's fees in lieu; no remission of fees is given for unexcused absences. Specific refund rules and timing are set out under the College's registration and admissions terms.

Fee payment options and facilities

- Invoicing and standard payment: invoices are issued in advance of term start; fees are payable termly and in advance. Cheques may be made payable to St Edward's College. The Bursar can make alternative payment arrangements if agreed before the due date. For boarding parents the College references an electronic banking facility in the application documentation. Statements and reminders are issued for overdue accounts, and the College may suspend attendance where accounts are not settled.
- Canteen and small payments: the College uses a secure parent top-up system for canteen purchases that accepts Apple Pay and Google Pay for payments to the student payment tag.
- Additional financing option referenced: the College's documentation cites the availability of a Flexi-Credit facility via a partner bank for families who wish to spread payment, subject to the bank's approval. The Bursar's office can advise on available arrangements.

Notes on billing and inclusions

- Term fees for boarders include tuition, food and board, cleaning of rooms, changing of bed linen and laundry; textbooks, uniform, phone calls, entertainment and medical fees are not included. Parents are advised to plan for these additional costs.

Boarding Arrangements

The school has offered boarding since 1929. Boarding is available for Middle and Senior School boys aged 11 and above (Year 7–11) and Sixth Form students (boys and girls aged 16–18). Boarders live in twin or single rooms with access to sports and recreation facilities within the main campus and there are off-site visits. Meals are provided three times daily with a mid-morning snack, and vegetarian and halal options are available.

Uniform Requirement

Uniforms are required in full and are produced and sold by Garmmo, with items available from Garmmo in Zebbug Road, Attard. Parents may purchase uniforms from other suppliers as long as they meet the College's specifications. There are uniform lists for Nursery–KG, Years 1–6, Years 7–11 and IB Sixth Form.

Food Options

The canteen is operated by Thomas Franks Ltd and offers a wide variety of freshly cooked food at affordable prices. Vegan and vegetarian options are available, and a payment tag system is used for student purchases.

House System

The school has a three-house system: Du Cane, Congreve, and Campbell.

Curriculum

The curriculum runs from Early Years through Sixth Form, with dedicated sections for Early Years, Junior School, Middle School, Senior School, and Sixth Form - IBDP. St Edward's College is an IB World School offering the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) in the Sixth Form. The DP is a two-year pre-university programme for students aged 16–19, comprising six subject groups and the core—Theory of Knowledge, Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS), and the Extended Essay—with students choosing three Higher Level and three Standard Level subjects. The Sixth Form hours are 08:30–15:00 for Years 12–13, with opportunities for extra-curricular activities. The DP was authorised to commence in September 2009, and the Diploma is recognised by universities worldwide, including the University of Malta, Oxford, Sorbonne, and Harvard.

The Diploma Programme average score is 83%, higher than the international average of 79%.

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

St Edward's College places strong emphasis on character formation, intercultural understanding and leadership. It aims to develop exemplary citizens in a globalised, technology-driven world. Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Admissions

Step 1 – Initial Enquiry: The school provides an enquiry form for prospective families to learn more about St Edward's College. The Admissions Team will respond with further information. This initiates the admissions journey.

Step 2 – Visit the College: Visits are scheduled on specific days to minimise disruption to the school day. The Open Day is usually held in May. The Admissions Policy requires full disclosure of information including educational history, English language proficiency, medical history, and psycho-educational reports. Admissions are at the Headmaster's discretion and are subject to applicable policies and regulations.

Scholarships

Scholarships for IB Sixth Form are offered as tuition-fee reductions. The reductions are awarded as follows: 30% for six passes at grade 1-2 (SEC) or A/A or Grade 7-9 (Cambridge IGCSE); 25% for three passes; 20% for five passes; 10% for continuing from Year 11 (first year of IB). Boarding students are not eligible for scholarship discounts.
