Application / Admission fees
- A single, mandatory annual inscription (admission / reinscripción) payment is required at enrollment. This inscription covers a set of annual charges (see “Included in inscription” below).
Included in inscription (annual charges)
- The inscription payment includes: the parents' association fee, the SEP quota, the tutor life‑insurance premium (cobertura hasta nivel licenciatura), and the student personal accident insurance (cobertura por reembolso de gastos médicos escolares). When applicable, the International Baccalaureate (IB) quota and third‑year certificate/ceremony fees are charged as part of inscription. These concepts are invoiced and collected at 100% with the inscription.
Tuition structure by year group and term
- Tuition (colegiatura) is charged as a monthly amount and is collected in 10 monthly payments per academic year (equivalent to 10 monthly instalments). The 10 payments are organized as two academic periods: Otoño (Autumn) — five monthly payments (September to January) — and Primavera (Spring) — five monthly payments (February to June). Every month (or partial month) is charged in full. The institution applies the same billing rhythm across the preparatory grades (1°, 3° and 5° semesters as applicable). Specific numeric tuition and inscription amounts are determined for each plantel and communicated through the plantel's circular of services.
How term / instalment billing works
- Each academic period (Otoño and Primavera) comprises five monthly instalments; parents may pay monthly instalments or follow the payment options published by the plantel (including early‑payment / prepago options when available). A discount for prepayment of the full academic year (pago anticipado) may apply when paid in the dates indicated by the plantel; discount conditions do not apply to students already receiving other financial aid.
Billing schedule and payment terms
- Monthly tuition payments must be made within the first 17 natural days of each month. Payments paid after the due window incur a 3% monthly surcharge on the outstanding balance. Failure to pay three monthly tuition instalments exposes the student to suspension of educational services and other administrative measures. The school issues electronic invoices (CFDI) automatically when the payment is reflected in the account; procedures for first‑time invoicing are managed through the plantel administrative enlace.
Payment methods and practical details
- Accepted payment channels include: bank deposit in the plantel‑referenced account (CLABE/SPEI), branch / cashier payments using the payment slip (Unisoft / Multipagos BBVA or Santander procedures), transferencias electrónicas (SPEI/CLABE), payments with credit or debit card (Visa, Mastercard; American Express via the designated gateway where enabled), cheque (with instructions to annotate reference number on the back), domiciliation (automatic charge to card or account), and direct payments at the plantel terminal. Automatic charges to card may be scheduled for days 5, 10 or 15 of each month per the domiciliation agreement. Returned (bounced) cheques generate the legally applicable sanctions and associated commissions. Electronic invoices are generated the day the payment posts. Specific bank account references and the plantel payment fichas are provided to the responsible economic party when registering or during the admission process.
Late payment consequences and facilities
- Late payments are subject to a monthly 3% surcharge on unpaid balances. The Treasury department may grant payment facilities or special agreements in exceptional cases, but the institution reserves the right to apply administrative measures (suspension, administrative withdrawal, or referral to collection agencies) and to report defaulted payments to credit bureaus when applicable. Parents must retain original payment receipts for any clarifications.
Boarding / residence fees
- Prepa UPAEP Tehuacán operates as a presencial (day) preparatory centre; no boarding or student residence programme and related accommodation fees are listed for this campus. Therefore, boarding fees are not applicable for this plantel.
Other mandatory or common additional costs
- Annual / one‑time items that are commonly charged in addition to tuition include: the student personal accident insurance deductible (when services are requested at hospital convenio), issuance of the first student credential, costs for third‑year certification and graduation ceremony (for graduating cohort), and costs for special services (replacement credentials, constancias, cartas, certificados, trámites SEP, etc.). Uniforms, transportation, books, materials, camps and optional extracurricular activities are billed separately and are not included in the inscription or monthly tuition unless specifically stated by the plantel. All services with a cost are itemized and communicated at the start of the school year or in the plantel's circular.
Refund and withdrawal policy
- If inscription is cancelled prior to the start of classes: 100% of the inscription is refundable when the request is presented at least 60 calendar days before classes begin; a 50% refund applies if requested at least 30 calendar days before the start of classes. Once classes begin, inscription is non‑refundable. If a student requests a definitive withdrawal during an academic period and advance tuition payments were made, unearned (no‑devengadas) tuition instalments will be returned (subject to presentation of original payment slips); the withdrawing student must have no outstanding debts and, for cases that require issuance of a certificate, the five tuition payments corresponding to the period in question must be covered. Procedures and deadlines for refunds require presentation of original deposit / payment receipts.
Examples of administrative fees / charges (types, not fixed amounts)
- Possible additional administrative charges include: issuance of constancias and certificates, reposición de credencial, trámite fuera de plazo, bajas de materias (when applicable), revalidaciones, servicios especiales (lockers, estacionamiento) and other service fees; their amounts are set by the institution and communicated to parents. The personal accident insurance may apply a deductible amount per event.
Summary for parents (essential points)
- You must pay an annual inscription (which includes several annual charges) plus 10 monthly tuition instalments per academic year (charged as five instalments per Otoño and five instalments per Primavera). Payment is due within the first 17 days of each month. Multiple secure payment channels are available (bank deposit/CLABE SPEI, Unisoft/Multipagos BBVA, Santander, card payments and domiciliation). Late payment carries a 3% monthly surcharge and repeated nonpayment can lead to suspension of services. Refund rules for inscription and prepayment are defined and require original receipts.
