Internationella Engelska Gymnasiet Södermalm (IEGS) is an international upper secondary school in Stockholm's Södermalm district. It offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme alongside four national programmes with distinct specialisations: Aesthetics with Drama; Economics with Law; Natural Science with Natural Science; and Social Science with Social Science. All courses, except Swedish, Civics A, Law and Modern Languages, are taught in English, with International Relations included across all programmes. IEGS is an IB World School operating from a historic campus with facilities that include a library, a fully equipped sports hall, four science laboratories (two wet, two dry), an art room, a drama/dance studio, a large aula and a black box. The Arts are reinforced by theatre and creative writing; Model United Nations and the European Youth Parliament provide international engagement. A House System fosters community and friendly competition. IEGS will close in June 2026, with admissions winding down as part of the closure process.
Vasa International School of Stockholm is an IB World School in Vasastan, educating 400 students aged 5 to 15. SSHL is a Swedish boarding school and high school with an international outlook, situated along Lake Mälaren near the historic town of Sigtuna and convenient for Arlanda Airport. The school blends Swedish Gymnasium programmes for Years 10–12 with International Baccalaureate options, offering three IB programmes: DP, CP, and MYP, taught in English in the Diploma Programme while preserving a Swedish-language track within the IB and Gymnasium options. SSHL serves both boarding and day students, with eight boarding houses and a campus of 565 students (205 boarders). International School of the Stockholm Region (ISSR) is a publicly funded, English-speaking school founded by the City of Stockholm to meet demand for international education. It offers a complete IB continuum: Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), Diploma Programme (DP) and the IB Career-related Programme (CP) for students aged 5 to 18. ISSR has served as an IB World School since 1999 and is based on Södermalm campus, which joined the IB Continuum in 2016. The school educates more than 600 students from over 70 countries, reflecting its international community.
