NHJS uses the Singapore Ministry of Education curriculum for primary education and the Cambridge curriculum for secondary education, with English as the main medium of instruction and Chinese and Bahasa Indonesia taught as well. The curriculum is organized around three domains: the Cognitive Domain, the Affective Domain, and the Physical and Aesthetic Domain. The Cognitive Domain mirrors the Singapore version and emphasizes trilingualism from foundation years through the A Level. The school follows a 12-year PIAGET Education journey focusing on mind, life skills, and heart through a range of programmes and experiences. Three benchmarking examinations are administered: iPSLE at the end of Year 6, Cambridge IGCSE at the end of Year 10, and Cambridge International A-Level at the end of Year 12. Other Learning Experiences include Co-Curricular Activities, Coming of Age Programme, Youth Leadership Convention, Learning Journeys, Prefectorial Board, and Student Council.
Graduates pursue higher education at universities across North America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania. Step 1. Registration documents: Submit the completed Registration Form and the NHJS Health Form. Indonesian students provide: Birth Certificate, Both Parents' ID Card (KTP), Family Card (KK), Child's Last Report Book, Bank Receipt (if any), and four 3x4 color photographs. Foreign students provide: Birth Certificate, Parents' Passport and KITAS/KIMS, Child's Passport, Child's Last Report Book, Bank Receipt (if any), and four 3x4 color photographs. Step 2. Year 1 enrollment: There is no entrance test. Parents should submit a copy of the child's record and Kindergarten education. The accepted age is six years old by October 31 of the academic year (which falls in July); in marginal cases, the Principal may exercise discretion. Step 3. Year 2 enrollment: The candidate will sit for a written assessment in English and Mathematics, with Chinese optional. Each paper lasts about 1.5 hours. Assessments can be arranged with 3 days' notice and results are provided within a week. Step 4. Year 3–6 enrollment: The candidate will sit for a written assessment in English, Mathematics and Science, with Chinese optional. Each paper lasts about 1.5 hours. Assessments can be arranged with 3 days' notice and results are provided within a week. Step 5. Year 7–10 enrollment: The candidate will sit for a written assessment in English, Mathematics and Science, with Chinese optional. Each paper lasts about 1.5 hours.
